Big Idea:
Observing a market need for fast-food rice meals, Rommel Juan started a food delivery service business out of his condo in Makati, Philippines in 1996 - calling it Binalot. The moniker rapidly became a household name and since 2003 has exploded into 31 franchises throughout the Philippines, including a location across from Manila Cathedral. Binalot's has extended its success to others though a corporate social responsibility program that has provided financial aid and opportunities to subsistence farmers of banana leaves in the Southern Tagalog region of the Philippines.
